Ceramic corundum abrasives (also called microcrystalline corundum abrasive) is a new aluminum oxide abrasive, corundum abrasive roll  and corundum which maintains the high hardness and wear resistance properties, but also has high toughness, easy to change corundum broken disadvantage that has toughened alumina ceramic properties, which can be widely used in the manufacture of coated abrasives and abrasive.
Preparation of ceramic corundum abrasives shown in Figure 1. Compared with fused alumina abrasive difference lies in  abrasive wheel different materials and different preparation process. This method uses a water-alumina as raw material by the sol - gel process for the synthesis of submicron grain size (0.1μm ~ 0.2μm) of corundum crystals, and then prepared by sintering technology microcrystalline corundum ceramic structure. Compared with ordinary corundum abrasives, abrasive corundum ceramics not only high hardness and abrasive microcrystalline structure because it has a lot  cutting and grinding disc of crystal solution surface. In the grinding or dressing, finishing, normal fused alumina abrasive transgranular fracture along the grain surface, showing the macro broken; ceramic corundum abrasives rupture along the grain boundaries, showing microscopic crushing, continue to produce sharp cutting edges, good self-sharpening and less peeling. With its production of grinding wheels with anti-clogging, high wear resistance, grinding heat, long life, removal rate, grinding and grinding than the big advantages of good quality.
